Get Yourself a Lip Smacker Tattoo and You’ll Never Lose Your Lip Gloss Again

The Bonne Bell cosmetic company was founded in 1927 and produced products targeted towards a teen demographic. It wasn’t until 1973 that Lip Smackers were born.

Originally marketed towards skiers (and later teens and pre-teens), Lip Smackers came in three different flavours: strawberry, green apple, and chocolate.

It was only two years later that Bonne Bell partnered with Dr. Pepper to create a lip gloss flavoured and scented like their signature drink. This was just the first of many brand partnerships (Disney, Mars, Coca Cola) to come in the following decades.

The Lip Smackers flavour range continued to expand and reached peak popularity in the ’80s and ’90s. Which flavour was your favourite?

The Bonne Bell and Lip Smacker brands were sold in 2015.

Sadly, only a couple of Lip Smacker tattoos exist. If you’re into a cute or pastel aesthetic, have a cosmetics tattoo theme going on, need something to fill a gap, or just want a Lip Smacker tattoo, I hope these tattoos will inspire you.
