Among Us was launched by InnerSloth on June 15, 2018 but it wasn’t until lockdown hit in 2020 that, thanks to Twitch streamers and YouTubers, Among Us became a worldwide hit.
The multiplayer online game set in space finds players randomly selected as either Crewmates or Imposters. The Crewmates are assigned specific tasks to complete all while the Imposters attempt to sabotage their work, and kill their fellow Crewmates along the way. The game of strategy allows players to vote out who they believe to be the Imposter in order to win the game.
This sudden spike in popularity meant that when tattoo shops reopened (before closing again), people were booked in to get Among Us inspired tattoos. There’s a few hundred images online, but many are sus and clearly imposters pretending to be well executed tattoos.
