The (Anything But) Sick, Sad World of ‘Daria’ Tattoos

MTV’s Daria was right… it is a sick, sad world out there.

I’m sure most of you reading this also grew up watching Daria. When we couldn’t relate to characters in other shows, there was always Daria. Daria was cynical, dark humoured, misunderstood, a social outcast, and happily left to her own devices. Much of her personality, the scenarios she found herself faced with and the people she was forced to interact with, still resonates with us today.

If you ever watched an episode of Daria you would know that Daria’s favourite television show was ‘Sick, Sad World.’ It’s the kind of show that Daria fans wish actually existed.

The sick, twisted and utterly unbelievable stories covered by the fictional television show would be a nice reprieve from the death and destruction we see all across the media these days.

With Daria tattoos flooding social media in recent years, Daria’s sister, Quinn and the other members of the Fashion Club would be none too pleased about her popularity. While they seethed, complained and plotted their revenge, Daria would just be sitting in her bedroom, reading a book with that shit-eating smirk on her face.
