You Won’t Want to Exterminate These ‘Doctor Who’ Tattoos!

The science fiction adventure drama television show, Doctor Who has been entertaining audiences for 60 years across 26 seasons, in its original run from 1963-1989, a number of TV specials, and 13 series since its return in 2005. How many of the 871 episodes have you seen?

In more recent series, there have been some big firsts for the Doctor Who franchise: Jodie Whittaker was cast as the Thirteenth Doctor – the first woman to be cast as The Doctor; David Tennant is the only actor to play two incarnations of The Doctor (Tenth and Fourteenth Doctor); and Ncuti Gatwa has been announced as the forthcoming Fifteenth Doctor – the first black actor to portray the character.

When it comes to deciding on a Doctor Who tattoo the three things that are likely to pop into your mind are daleks, the sonic screwdriver and the TARDIS – they’re iconic elements and imagery akin to that of lightsabers and the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars. Don’t be discouraged that so many of these types of tattoos exist because there are ways in which to create a unique pop culture tattoo – my number one tip is to allow your chosen tattoo artist complete creative freedom.

If you’re looking for something different, then I suggest immersing yourself in the Doctor Who universe, and looking beyond the usual visuals. With almost 900 episodes, there are a myriad of evil characters, companions, regenerations of The Doctor, and scenes to inspire your own tattoo.
