For two siblings so dissimilar, it is The Simpsons’ Krusty the Clown and his television show which manages to bring Bart and Lisa together, and sends them into fits of giggles. However, despite his outwardly happy demeanour, Krusty the Clown is actually a sad and cynical man – something many of us can relate to.
Krusty is yet another character inspired by Groening’s own life, and his memories of a television clown called Rusty Nails.
Krusty is essentially Homer, but with hair and face paint, and the intent was for Bart to have no respect for Homer but greatly admire Krusty.
