Cow and Chicken is a surreal animated comedy series created by David Feiss. The show aired on Cartoon Network for 52 episodes across three seasons from 1997 to 1999.
Originally a story for his daughter, Feiss had worked at Hanna-Barbera since 1978 and pitched them the show.
Featuring a pair of siblings, Cow is 7 years old and Chicken is 11, and each are obviously a cow and a chicken and yet have human parents. There’s also the Red Guy who is constantly trying to scam the pair.
Before J. Lo and Kim Kardashian, and the world’s obsession with big butts, there was the Red Guy.
Chaotic, ridiculous, and often nonsensical, Cow and Chicken began as a series of shorts that ran on Cartoon Network’s What a Cartoon! show from 1995 to 1997.
When Cow and Chicken broke away and had its own show, it consisted of three segments: two for Cow and Chicken and one of I Am Weasel.
