Eleanor Abernathy – more affectionately known as the Crazy Cat Lady – made her first appearance on The Simpsons in episode 21 of season 9 (April 19, 1998) titled “Girly Edition”.
Being dubbed a Crazy Cat Lady was once a negative stereotype but, slowly over time, the term has come to be embraced by those with an affinity for cats. If it’s acceptable for dogs to be man’s best friend then the same can, and should, be said for cats.
