Like many Disney produced films of the past, the 1964 film, Mary Poppins was based on existing material – the Mary Poppins book series by P. L. Travers.
54 years on, the sequel Mary Poppins Returns starred Emily Blunt and other notable names from the stage and screen, including Lin-Manuel Miranda and Meryl Streep (Blunt’s co-star from The Devil Wears Prada). Dick Van Dyke was the only original cast member to return, although this time around he played the son of his original character.
As Mary Poppins sang in the original film: “a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down” – having some sugary snacks on hand while getting your Mary Poppins (or any other) tattoo will make your session that little bit more bearable.
The expectations for this sequel were immense given the original film – what did you think of it? A Mary Poppins tattoo doesn’t have to suffer to same fate as a (possibly disappointing) sequel – do your research, find an artist you trust, and let them bring your fantasy to life!
