An Iced Gems Tattoo Is Not a Mistake

Created in the 1850s by Huntley + Palmer of Reading, the biscuits you know as Iced Gems were originally just called Gems.

The biscuits were considered a mistake as they shrunk significantly in the oven. Thomas Huntley liked them and decided to market the product as Gems. The biscuit underwent a further change in 1910 when icing was added to the top which then saw a name change to Iced Gems.

Outside of the UK, Iced Gems can be found in Singapore and a number of other countries where there are variations with the icing colours.

Iced Gems can be the perfect little gap filler or part of a sweet treat sleeve.
