These P!nk Tattoos Are F**kin’ Perfect

Alecia Moore – known around the world as P!nk – was born in 1979 and got her first taste of the music industry when signed to LaFace Records as part of the girl group, Choice.

Choice relocated to Atlanta where they recorded an album which was never released. Their one single “Key to My Heart” was included on the Kazaam soundtrack.

The group disbanded in 1998 and P!nk became a solo artist which turned out to be the right decision. P!nk’s solo debut album Can’t Take Me Home was released in 2000 and went double platinum in the US.

With her strikingly bright and short pink hair, P!nk was the antithesis of all the long-haired blonde (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson) pop stars at the time .

2001 was a huge year for P!nk with her involvement in the mega hit “Lady Marmalade” for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack along with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim and Mya. November of that year saw the release of her sophomore album, M!ssundaztood which sold over 13 million copies.

2003’s Try This didn’t reach the same level of success as her first two albums, but she returned three years later with I’m Not Dead which saw P!nk serve as executive producer and experiment with her sound.

Six singles were released from the album to huge success, followed by a tour which included 72 shows across North America and Europe. This was when Australia truly fell in love with P!nk as she managed to sell out her entire tour of 35 shows (over 300,000 tickets) across the country.

Since 2008, she’s released a further five studio albums, a greatest hits compilation, and the live album All I Know So Far: Setlist which was a companion to her documentary on Amazon Prime Video.

P!nk’s ninth album, Trustfall was just released, along with news of a huge worldwide tour – do you have your tickets yet?

When P!nk first found fame she was visibly “heavily” tattooed compared to any other female pop singers at the time. She graced the cover of the first issue of Australian Ink magazine in 2009 – a precursor to Inked Australia/NZ magazine (I still have it in my magazine collection… somewhere). Her husband, Carey Hart, even had his own tattoo reality show called Inked for a couple of seasons on A&E some years ago.

With an almost 25 year long solo career, which song, music video, performance, photoshoot, or album artwork will you draw inspiration from for your own “F**kin’ Perfect” P!nk tattoo?
