Rollers are a group of birds similar in build to crows, but with the vibrant colouration of kingfishers and bee-eaters; they’re named rollers due to their impressive aerial acrobatic skills.
Found in warmer areas of the world, the roller populations are spread across Europe, Africa, Asia, and even Australia. There are two extant genera of rollers with a total of 12 species, and numerous more sub-species; despite these kinds of numbers there are still quite so few tattoos of these birds.
Each species has such colourful, unique markings that there’s sure to be at least one species that would blend in nicely with whatever colour scheme you have chosen for your tattoo collection.
I’ve seen a dodo roller skating, so maybe someone somewhere will get a roller bird roller skating or rollerblading? It certainly wouldn’t be the strangest tattoo I’ve found online.
