The Ren & Stimpy Show was one of the first original cartoons Nickelodeon developed, premiering along with Rugrats and Doug in August of 1991.
While the other two shows focused on baby/toddler and adolescent issues and adventures, The Ren & Stimpy Show was so left of field. Ren the chihuahua and Stimpy the cat were crazy and violent, and yet the dark humour still managed to resonate with audiences, from young children to teens.
After 5 seasons and 52 episodes the show ended and was replaced with new original Nickelodeon content. Now, almost 30 years since the final episode, The Ren & Stimpy Show has a cult following online and with tattoo collectors.
Ren and Stimpy were the stars of the show, however they were often joined by one-off characters and some regulars, including Powdered Toast Man who just happens to make a few appearances in this list.
