Despite Joey Tribbiani’s strenuous objections, these tattoos are of cats – the sphynx breed, to be specific, and one which appears to be the most popular when it comes to tattoos.
There’s thousands of images in the Sphynx cat tattoo tag (#sphynxcattattoo) on Instagram, and when you move over to the Sphynx tattoo tag (#sphynxtattoo) there’s several thousands more. Unfortunately, this is due to what many Instagram accounts are guilty of doing – taking over tags with their non-tattoo related content in order to garner more likes, followers, or website visitors. They need to stop doing that right meow!
You can’t say that I’m not thorough with my curation for TTA – I even looked through the #sphinxtattoo and #sphinxcattattoo tags on Instagram. For a tag which should feature tattoos, or at least imagery of the Great Sphinx of Giza, it was filled with even more cat tattoos. Is is too catty of me to say that I can see why people end up with spelling errors in their tattoos when they don’t even know how to spell the name of the animal tattooed on their bodies?
