Despite it being quite some time since a tattoo of a hand has appeared on Ebony Mellowship’s Instagram feed, I still can’t get them off my mind. I would suggest you go and read the past article I wrote about how much I love Ebony’s hand tattoos, but that tattoo magazine and its website no longer exists. So here I am yet again raving about how I still love them so very much.
Ebony is known for her flawless neo trad tattoos and the pieces I’ve selected to show you are no exception. It is impressive how something as simple as a hand can be completely transformed by the client’s desired theme, with their concepts ranging from Harry Potter, animals, hobbies, flowers, and television shows.
Each hand is decorated so beautifully with jewellery (rings and bracelets) or a cuff of fabric – even the size and shape of the nails and the nail colour differ, giving each piece a distinctly unique appearance. I’m a sucker for tattoos with tattoos, which also happens to be a common theme with Ebony’s hand tattoos
There’s a firm idea in my mind about the hand tattoo I want from Ebony, but a trip to New Zealand isn’t currently on the cards for me; I’ll have to continue to just stare at the tattoos below until my appointment is booked.
