I Knew You Were Waiting For These George Michael Tribute Tattoos

Almost seven years ago the world was shocked by news of the sudden death of George Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou) at age 53. From his work in Wham to his duet with the late Aretha Franklin, the legendary singer-songwriter had an extensive collection of hit solo records.

While his music brought joy to so many, George Michael battled personal demons behind the scenes (and at times rather publicly) – a reminder that famous or not, we’re not perfect or invincible.

As tragic as his death was, it truly is so lovely to see his fans showing love for him in such a permanent manner.

Despite having such a long career, it appears that Wham’s “Club Tropicana” and his solo song “Faith” have inspired most tribute tattoos, however each artist has managed to create unique pieces for their clients. To make your George Michael tattoo that extra bit special, consider using album covers, stills from music videos, or other photographs as reference for your tattoo.

What is your favourite George Michael song? Let me know in the comment section down below.

“Freedom! ’90” and “Careless Whisper” are two of my faves, along Michaels’ live performance of “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” with Elton John, and when he sang “Somebody to Love” with Queen at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert.

And for those of you who are both George Michael and horror movie fans, you might enjoy this song parody by The Merkins.
