In the 35 years since their formation Green Day have managed to sell over 85 million records, win a slew of awards, and become a commercially successful punk rock band.
Next year their third album Dookie will celebrate its 30th anniversary and it remains Green Day’s highest selling album to date, but it was 2004’s American Idiot which spawned the hit Broadway rock musical of the same name.
For a band with such a long career and mass appeal it is strange how few (decent) Green Day tattoos can be found – maybe fans don’t find music tattoos all that punk rock?
