Michael Jackson Tattoos to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of “Thriller”

In November 1982 Michael Jackson released his sixth solo studio album, Thriller. Seven of the nine tracks were released as singles and the album has gone on to sell over 65 million copies, making it the world’s best-selling album of all time.

The final single, and the title track of the album, “Thriller” and its video clip were what inspired this post.

A year after the album dropped, the now iconic 14 minute music video premiered on December 2, 1983. John Landis, the writer and director of An American Werewolf in London was hired to direct “Thriller” as per Jackson’s request.

Inspired by 1950s horror films – with Vincent Price’s maniacal laughter, all the sound effects, Jackson’s werewolf transformation, and zombies dancing – the music video truly is a thriller.

Zombie or werewolf Michael Jackson – which one will you pick for your tattoo?
