Released in 2007, Trick ‘r Treat is an anthology horror film written and directed by Michael Dougherty wrote and directed. With a nonlinear narrative, the events are not shown in chronological order, but as the movies progresses, characters and stories eventually intertwin, the pieces fall into place, leading to a satisfying conclusion.
The main antagonist of Trick ‘r Treat, Sam is a child-like demon, he sports orange pyjamas and a burlap sack covering his skull/jack-o’-lantern shaped head. Sam wanders around the fictional town of Warren Valley, Ohio enforcing the “rules” of Halloween, some of his victims more deserving than others
With a limited theatrical release, Trick ‘r Treat found success and its cult following through physical media sales.
Horror movie icons such as Freddy, Michael, and Jason are still some of the most popular ink choices amongst horror fanatics, however there is a niche in the tattoo community for lesser known characters like Sam. These people certainly don’t want to experience the wrath of Sam come Halloween.
