Rhi Husty is basically an honorary Aussie at this point with her contribution to the tattoo arts.
When I had originally published this TTA on my old website during the pandemic, Husty had been tattooing and travelling Australia. Husty attempted to return back to the UK early in 2020, but the flight was cancelled and she was forced to remain in Melbourne. Tattooing between the lockdowns in Victoria, Husty managed to escape before internal border closures and spent time travelling the east coast of Australia while tattooing when she could.
Husty creates such smooth and totally cute neo trad tattoos of anything in the realm of pop culture, animals, food and kawaii. With such varied imagery and client requests, Husty’s work has so far been included in over 30 posts here on TTA – click here to see them all.
As if animal tattoos weren’t cute enough as they are, Husty manages to create cute creature pieces that induce a cuteness overload. What I really enjoyed during her stay in Australia were all the tattoos she produced of native Australian flora and fauna, and distinctly Aussie foods. While I don’t eat them, I appreciate that the ode to Bunnings sausage sizzles rightfully has the onions on top where they should be – OH&S be damned!
It’s now 2025 and Rhi Husty has been back in the UK for some time. Currently on maternity leave, I suggest following her on Instagram and switching on notifications so you can be first to know when she’s once again taking bookings.
